Graphene and rubber "strong combination", new materials make shoes full of imagination

Properties of Graphene Rubber

Rubber has unique high elasticity at room temperature. As an important strategic material, it is widely used in the fields of national economy, high-tech, national defense and military industry. However, unreinforced rubber has low strength, low modulus, poor wear resistance, poor fatigue resistance, and no practicality. Therefore, filling and reinforcement are required for most rubbers.

Facing the functional requirements of rubber products, it is particularly important to develop the preparation and research of nano-fillers (clay, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), graphene, etc.)/rubber composites with low filler content and high reinforcement efficiency (reducing heat generation). Compared with other fillers such as CB, SiO2, CNTs, clay, etc., graphene as a rubber nanofiller has higher specific surface area, strength, elasticity, thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity.

Traditional rubber, whether natural or synthetic, must undergo a chemical cross-linking reaction to harden. The cross-linked individual polymer chains provide better abrasion resistance, but also fatigue, oil and solvent resistance. These properties can be further enhanced by the addition of composite ingredients during the manufacturing process. Graphene oxide is one of them: it both crosslinks and strengthens rubber. In particular, it can increase the ability of the rubber to withstand long-term wear. In addition, it can also improve the tensile and tear strength, flame retardancy and heat resistance of rubber.

Application of Graphene Rubber in New Shoes

In recent years, more and more attempts have been made to apply graphene in the footwear industry, and shoes and clothing containing graphene materials are gradually becoming hot favorites in the market.

Graphene is applied to shoes, which can last up to 9 hours at a constant temperature of 40 ℃ and 7 hours at a constant temperature of 50 ℃.

It is reported that the use of graphene in shoes and clothing, in the use of all the use of flame retardant materials, high safety factor, will not cause any damage to the human body, through the safety testing certification. It is worth mentioning that graphene has an ultra-fast heat conduction function, which takes only 9 seconds from turning on the power to heating.

The addition of graphene, a high-tech material, means that even if only a small dose is added to the sole, the shoe can maintain lasting durability, maintaining the shape for a long time without changing, and reducing the need to replace worn shoes.

Small innovations in the shoe industry have been constantly changing and improving the comfort of wearing shoes or the functionality of specific uses.

By adding graphene material, graphene can be used to adjust the temperature of this magical material and improve the tensile properties of soles.
